From the time it was founded, Northshire Bookstore has been active in supporting and donating to local charitable organizations. We believe in the importance of giving back, and we intend to uphold this important part of our ongoing mission. We proudly support organizations that are critically important to the safety and well-being of our communities through our customer-backed Round-Up program and other means.
Our Book Angels Program (which we often refer to as “Books for Kids”) ensures that children in our communities will receive the gift of a book over the Holidays every year— children who might not otherwise be receiving gifts, or have access to books at home. We work with partner schools to make sure that every child is matched with an appropriate title, and we are so thankful to our generous supporters for allowing us to maintain this important tradition.
Our Event Angels Program. The Northshire Bookstore is fortunate to be able to bring free author visits - from nationally known children's book authors - to area schools. Inspired by our beloved book angels program, we are working with our customers to make sure that children who are inspired by these author visits but might not otherwise be able to afford a book receive one as a gift. We partner with local schools to identify children who would benefit from this program. After each school visit we will give as many copies as possible of the visiting author's most recent book to the school, to be given to children who want a book but could not afford to purchase one.
