A beautifully haunting, feminist masterpiece that speaks to the injustices faced by native people during colonialism and haunts the reader to their core. This is a different type of horror novel, one filled with terrifying nightmares faced by enslaved people throughout history. This work of fiction had me overcome with emotion by the events covered by a mysterious vengeance seeking vampire named Malinalli. She works to take her country back through centuries of antiquities dealings and vicious attacks while also seeking true love. This is one that will be talked about for a long time to come. Well done. ~ Reviewed by Kylie Thalheimer

Holy cow, what a rollercoaster of a book. This was my first Freida McFadden book and I have to say, I’m now a new big fan lol. I plan on reading all of her books because this one was so good! What seems like a straightforward mystery takes you on a wild ride of deception, lost love, and family lies that will have you flying through the pages.

I usually figure out who the killer is in mysteries and let me tell you I did NOT see that ending coming! I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an unputdownable read that will have them gasping by the end! ~ Reviewed by Kylie Thompson

I don’t know why I put off reading this book for so long. I absolutely LOVE Molly Gray as a character. I would follow her anywhere lol. This is a classic mystery for anyone that can’t handle the more gory mysteries of today. It’s funny, heart breaking, adventurous and original in the best way. Anyone who writes about an awkward maid who finds a dead body in one of her hotel rooms is a genius.

This is incredibly inventive and it was just so fun. Like I can’t say that enough! I can’t wait to see what Molly does next. I truly wish she was my bestie! ~ Reviewed by Kylie Thalheimer

I am in my cozy fantasy reading era and this book does not disappoint! Shockingly clever and wickedly funny, Maehrer focuses on bringing her characters to life and making her readers fall for The Villain. I couldn’t put this book down, it had me laughing at some parts and throwing the book across the room in shock at others. What starts as a hilarious account told from the perspective of a villain’s assistant with a frog prince sidekick and his outrageous red signs, turns into an adventurous account to bring down the evil doers.

It is just a feel good book that will be a smashing hit for all who need a good laugh and a villain to root for. Besides, who doesn’t want to fall in love with an evil dark brooding villain from time to time. I know I do! ~ Reviewed by Kylie Thalheimer
