Becoming Wise is superb. I was expecting mostly excerpts from Tippett's interviews on her great NPR show On Being, but this book is more personal and, therefore, more robust and meaningful. Tippett is honest and revealing in ways that serve the narrative of the exploration. Her subtly, capacity for nuanced observation and straight ahead good writing combine to make this book deep, wide-ranging and refreshing in surprising ways. I highly recommend Becoming Wise to anyone who is curious about the human condition or how to live a full, heartfelt life in a world of turmoil and suffering. This is a fantastic book.

This is a fascinating and timely exploration of the world today. How do we deal with the incredible (and increasing) pace of change? The relentless advance of technology? Ito and Howe are involved in the MIT Media Lab, an interdisciplinary group of MIT professors and other smart folks who are involved in creating our future. While the book is a little too MIT Media Lab heavy - meaning, not drawing from other places enough - it is a great read for anyone grappling with how to adapt and thrive in the new world that is evolving. They present nine themes, for instance, Resilience over Strength, that they believe will better serve us going forward. Well worth the time! ~ Reviewed by Chris Morrow

A fascinating read for anyone trying to understand the increasingly complex world we live in. Ramo, of Age of the Unthinkable fame, posits that the power in the world has evolved from traditional actors like nations to diffuse networks. Networks, and networks of networks, and the overlapping complexity they create are the driving forces of the future. Interesting reading for all and a must-read for anyone in power. ~ Reviewed by Chris Morrow
