This book hit all the points for me, it is a testament to the human trait we are missing in our modern world. What does it mean to us, as a species, to walk? According to Kagge, it is everything. It not only is our most natural waking state, so necessary to our wellbeing, through breath and exercise, but also to our mental state, and our connection with our surroundings. It has become common knowledge that being in nature can be healing, and this book takes it even further, it is also necessary to our creative selves, as well as our stress levels, to walk alone in harmony with our world, allows our brains the space they need to create. Without this essential component, are we only existing? ~ Reviewed by Becky Doherty

“According to a much-referenced study, we humans are worse at concentrating than a goldfish. Humans today lose their concentration after eight seconds, while the goldfish averaged nine.” E. Kagge
What have we lost, by filling our every waking moment with a noise, a sound bite? If you go for a walk, do you put your earbuds in? When you drive, is the music on? Although, Kagge appreciates these things in themselves, at certain times, it’s the silence he really wants us to appreciate. Are we losing ourselves, by always listening to others. ~ Reviewed by Becky Doherty
