Don't ever think the era of adventurers or explorers is over, they are still very much alive and well, as the author and her husband can attest to. They take on an epic journey by themselves through the arctic circle, over 4,000 miles of walking and paddling and avoiding bear attacks. It is a joy to be taken along with them, through one of the last wildernesses on earth, a place that hosts the last great mammal migration, done by the caribou, that they have the honor to witness. You may not make it yourself, but with such beautifully descriptive writing, you will feel like you have seen it. Highly Recommend! ~ Reviewed by Becky Doherty

Macfarlane's writing is a joy, a lyrical prose that speaks directly to the heart, and his latest book is a wonder, and a treasure to behold. I turned each page enraptured, and met each new chapter with glee. You are taken on an epic journey of the underland, the land beneath our feet, and I had no idea of the marvels, and the horrors, that are encased there. To read this book, is to know this planet we live on a little better, and also maybe, ourselves. A must read! ~ Reviewed by Becky Doherty

When faced with tremendous adversity, Ray and her husband Moth take an unusual path, literally. In a short span of time, they find themselves homeless and dealing with a terminal illness, and the way they deal with it is to walk, and keep walking. They embark on the epic 630 mile South West Coast Path, wild camping and living on less than $50 a week. Their journey is a joy to be taken on, an ode to human resilience, and a reminder of what’s important in life. I loved every minute of it! ~ Reviewed by Becky Doherty

Jordan Banks is a seventh grader starting a new school, not the art school he was hoping for, and also not the one all his neighborhood friends go to. His parents are sending him to a private school known for it’s academic excellence, and he is one of the few kids of color to attend. Jordan has to learn how to find his place, and be true to himself, in both his new school, and with the new dynamic he has with his friends at home. This book tackles many issues, such as racism, bullying, and fitting in, with great style and a lot of humor. It’s a great addition to the graphic novel genre. ~ Reviewed by Becky Doherty
