The yoga teacher, practitioner, and activist will discuss her warm, powerful guide to help you honor the changes and spaces in your life with purposeful rest and reflection. She will also lead a yoga and meditation exercise virtually.

 

 

Join author, restorative yoga, meditation, Yoga Nidra teacher, activist, and former public school writing teacher Octavia Raheem for this nurturing evening of resting and writing.

 

This virtual rest and writing experience includes:

  • An opening yoga and meditation practice
  • A journaling exercise
  • A reading from Pause, Rest, Be
  • A rest & reflection practice
  • Audience Q&A

You are encouraged to clear your calendar at least 30 minutes prior to the event, pre-plan for food/snacks for the evening, and dedicate a sweet chunk of your day to soul-care, creativity, and making space for inner revelation. You will also want to make sure your home/space is as conducive for you to rest, write, and take as much refuge as possible.

 

You will need:

  • Pillows, blankets, bolsters/props
  • A journal and pen
  • Stable Wi-Fi

 

No prior experience is necessary.

 

OCTAVIA RAHEEM is a mother, author, yoga teacher and practitioner, and activist. Octavia founded Starshine & Clay, an online and retreat space for Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color to rest and restore. She has received national attention for her work training yoga teachers and diversifying the yoga and wellness industry. Her work focuses on practical tools to teach individuals how to manage stress, anxiety, and fatigue through yoga and meditation in a way that is accessible to all levels/abilities, and restorative to the nervous system.
