Northshire Bookstore is taking its motto of building community one book at a time to heart in this time of pandemic. Northshire Bookstore event managers Rachel Person & Dafydd Wood host a weekly Northshire Live virtual meetup every Thursday at 5pm. These Northshire Live virtual events will feature weekly author guests via Zoom, as well as a chance to connect with other readers and book lovers.

Please Note:  Because of security concerns with Zoom, Northshire Live events will now require a password.  If you receive our weekly events newsletters, we will include in there, but always feel free email us at  We would be happy to give it to you via email.

The second of our weekly virtual community gatherings for book lovers will feature Janice Shade, author of Moving Mountains: The Power of Main Street Americans to Change Our Economy on Thursday, April 9th at 5pm. Her new book uses storytelling and humor to deliver a history and exposé of the inequities of start-up capital markets, stories of women entrepreneurs’ quests for capital, steps to align your spending and your values, and more.

Janice Shade is a social entrepreneur, financial innovator, and author with 30 years’ experience building brands, businesses, and movements. After an early career in brand management, she set out to explore new models for conscious commerce and community capital launching or co-founding for-profit and non-profit ventures including TrueBody Products, Milk Money, and Local First Vermont, all of which share common themes of democratic access to capital, economic justice, and local economic resilience.
