Come and join us in creating beautiful Mandala Stones! This type of technique derives from Buddhist and Hindu culture, creating beautiful mandalas while practicing patience, impermanence and oneness with the universe. If you are in need of creativity, self-care, or connecting with the community, please come and join us!
Instructor: Gabrielle Hayward
Saturday, August 10th 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Supplies, light snacks, soothing music, a relaxing environment, and a short history on mandalas are included. A Mandala Stone book will be available for purchase at the event.
MEET THE ARTIST
AND HER MISSION
“Thee years ago, I moved to Middletown Springs of Vermont to pursue my career in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling with children and families. While on my journey in this field, I realized how important it was to make time for self-care. This is especially important when you take care of others for a living (that includes you, parents!). Throughout my life, I have loved art and being creative. Some of the self-care strategies I use today include dancing, biking, creating with clay, singing, painting mandala stones and seeing a therapist. Continuing on this journey, I began to experience anxiety and depression (something I am still working through). I thought that, if I am experiencing these difficult feelings, there must be others feeling similarly. I decided that teaching others self-care strategies (such as mandala stone painting workshops), could be one way to help care-givers and the community have some fun, feel less alone, and more relaxed and empowered.”
