Acclaimed outdoor adventure and nature writer, Deirdre Frost, will discuss “Getting Results from your Writing and Photography” that reveals what every aspiring writer needs to know to publish locally. She will provide a mentored critique, individual consultations and group talks on nature and environment, flow, craft points -- all within a short distance of the Battenkill in Manchester Center at Northshire Bookstore on Saturday, May 11th from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The nature-writing retreat will focus on a series of prompts to spark interest and build pivotal content that are vital to the understanding of the subject matter. The retreat offers helpful ways to think about and to generate a variety of focused pieces and a strategic action plan for work-in-progress. The program will also offer tips how to incorporate smartphone photography to create more impact.
Writers of all skill levels are welcomed.
Manchester Writing Retreat includes:
- Two-hour session on nature-writing, environment, conservation, & sustainability
- Mentor critique and strategic action plan
- Journaling and digital mapping
- Individual consultations and peer reviews
- Guided Riverwalk on the Battenkill
- Afternoon walk and reflection (optional) at Adams Park
Program $50 individuals/ families
Writers of all skill levels will have a chance to publish locally.
