Join us for a reading by David Crews of his book "Wander-Thrush" and a presentation by wilderness advocate Tyler Socash titled "Confluence: Presence, Wilderness, Place".
This event will be the culmination of a fundraising project to help protect the Eagle Mountain Wilderness Preserve in the northern Adirondacks. Socash will speak of the importance of wild spaces and Crews will close out the evening reading excerpts from Wander-Thrush, specifically from a piece on Presence, (dis)connecting to place, and wilderness.
"The writing of David Crews in Wander-Thrush is as evocative as a Hudson River School painting that uses words instead of oil and canvas." - Darryl McGrath, author of Flight Paths: A Field Journal of Hope, Heartbreak, and Miracles with New York's Bird People.
