We are so excited to present our first ever bake-off competition! Enter the contest and bring in your favorite cookie or bar cookie on Saturday, November 11th for a chance to win great prizes!
The following is the schedule for the day of the event:
12:30 – Contestants arrive for set up
1:00 – 3:00 – Customers will purchase tasting tickets to sample goods, vote for their favorites, and be entered into a contest to win a free copy of Baking With Success!
2:00 – 3:00 - Official judges will be introduced and will taste, discuss and determine their winners.
3:00 – 3:50 – Presentation and book signing by cookbook author Gail Sokol for her new book Baking With Success.
4:00 pm – Winners of the bake-off will be revealed and prizes distributed!!!
100% of the ticket proceeds plus 20% of cookbook sales for this event will be donated to the Community Food Cupboard.

Gail Sokol; Cookbook author of Baking With Success
Dina Bronson; baker and co-owner of Bistro Henry
Prizes for Bake-off winners are as follows:
People's Choice Award - $50.00 gift card to Mother Myrick's Confectionery
Second Place (chosen by judges) - $75.00 gift card to Northshire Bookstore
Grand Prize (chosen by judges) - Free baking class at King Arthur Flour Baking School in Norwich Vermont valued at $100 PLUS a free copy of both Baking With Success by Gail Sokol, and Breaking Bread by Martin Phillips, the head baker at King Arthur Flour.
Please note; since the People’s Choice Award is a separate vote from the judges, it is possible for one baker to take home 2 prizes.

This contest is for home bakers only. It is not open to professionally trained bakers. The Northshire Bookstore Cookie Bake Off is a recreational event, all proceeds of which are being donated to the Community Food Cupboard. Although prizes may be awarded to individual entrants, there is no guarantee of any entry being awarded a prize. Entrants agree to provide enough of their baked good to provide samples to at least 80 people. Grand prize winner, as determined by a panel of professional bakers, will be named “Northshire's Best Baker” with newspaper promotion to follow. All entrants agree to have their name published in publicity releases subsequent to this event. Other prizes may be awarded
