Gratitude & Charity

We are incredibly grateful. Grateful to the Morrows for establishing Northshire, grateful to Clark and Lu French for being such wonderful stewards of the store and its legacy, and grateful that our family is now carrying the baton. We recognize that Northshire is the magical place it is because of the communities that support us. We are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers, friends and family in both Manchester, VT, and Saratoga Springs, NY, as well as online at northshire.com, for their ongoing support, partnership and commitment to Northshire.

From the time it was founded, Northshire Bookstore has been active in supporting and donating to local charitable organizations. We believe in the importance of giving back, and we intend to uphold this important part of our ongoing mission.

We proudly support organizations that are critically important to the safety and well-being of our communities through our customer-backed Round-Up program and other means. A partial list of past recipients is below.

Additionally, our Book Angel Program (which we often refer to as “Books for Kids”) ensures that children in our communities will receive the gift of a book over the Holidays every year— children who might not otherwise be receiving gifts, or have access to books at home. We work with partner schools to make sure that every child is matched with an appropriate title, and we are so thankful to our generous supporters for allowing us to maintain this important tradition.

Finally, we are oh so grateful for the dedication of our amazing staff, several of whom have worked at the Northshire for over 30 years. The fact is that we could not do this important charitable work without their tremendous commitment and hard work.

Thank you all,
Cathleen, Nicole & Ashley

*We feel strongly about supporting as many valuable local programs as possible. Because we receive so many requests, we ask that you mail, drop off or email community@northshire.com documentation about your organization and the type of support you are seeking; we will contact you if we are able to accommodate your request.
