The evolution of my third all-time favorite movie, from the publication of Edna Ferber's bestseller about Texas to the tragic death of one of its major stars shortly before filming was completed. This was a troubled endeavor almost from its inception. Director George Stevens' penchant for meticulousness ran directly counter to Jack Warner's concern for schedule and budget overruns and Texans in particular were not fond of Ferber's book. "Giant" was quite possibly the only film that Elizabeth Taylor ever made in which neither of the leading actors had the remotest romantic interest in her. A great book for film lovers. ~ Reviewed by Alden Graves

From teenage crime reporter, to the sands of D-Day Normandy, early pulp writer, and eventually Hollywood cult director, Samuel Fuller turns his yarn the best way he knows how, by getting down deep and dirty to tell the God's honest truth. This man lived one of the most fascinating lives I've ever heard told, and the blunt honesty to which he tells it still moves me years later. One aspires to live like him while reading his tale—to wrestle down in the mud, to experience and to feel every pain and every breath life has to offer. ~ Reviewed by Alex Bell

Rhett and Link are two of the funniest guys you've probably never heard of. They host the daily YouTube show Good Mythical Morning, the podcast Ear Biscuits, have appeared on Jimmy Fallon, and created the viral "NOPE! Chuck Testa!" local taxidermy commercial.
Amidst all the hijinx, there's also a very powerful tale of staying true to yourself, and a heartwarming story of two guys who have been attached at the hip since grade school making it against all odds.
The Book of Mythicality is a cross between a coffee table book, media companion, an activity book and a memoir. That is to say, there's something for everyone in here.
I read this book along with my 8 year old, and we were both laughing out loud the whole way through. ~ Reviewed by Chris Linendoll

Some people might say that the Duplass Brothers are a little weird. That they're a little TOO close. That they have seemed to fail upwards.

They'd probably agree with you. This is a super-fun, breezy memoir by the movie-making brothers behind films such as Safety Not Guaranteed. While there is a bit of Hollywood name dropping here and there, it's mostly a coming of age tale, told by brothers who obviously have a deep love for others, a connection so strong it sometimes created a bubble around them.

I read this whole thing in an afternoon, and I smiled the entire time. ~ Reviewed by Chris Linendoll
