Nona the Ninth is the third book in the Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. It continues the story straight out of book two, so be sure the character names are fresh in your mind. The story is a small enjoyable detour from where I thought it was leading. This probably fits the author's plan since Nona the Ninth was a surprise extra book that has been inserted between Harrow the Ninth and Alecto the Ninth. ~ Reviewed by Ben Parker

In a contest between immortals, two gods select a pair of twins and set them on a collision course. One of the gods stands for nature, the other nurture. However, as the twins grow and hurtle towards their fate, the gods can't help but get a little attached. Heartwarming, captivating and witty, this is an entertaining yarn that expertly walks the line between funny and ridiculous. Unique and wonderful. ~ Reviewed by James Case

A fantasy take on the Golden Age of Hollywood, revealing the demonic underbelly of higherup studio executives, their many desperate rising stars, and the costs each of them are willing to pay for their five minutes of fame. We follow Luli Wei, a young, queer Chinese-American determined to be a star, even if that means she’ll only play the monsters of the movie world. Her journey is long and lonely, but Luli is ruthless in her pursuit of stardom. While the magic is left open to interpretation, the story itself is a glamorous picture, fantastic for readers on the more historical-fiction-fantasy side. ~ Reviewed by Kirstin Swartz

Another spicy St. Clair read! This is basically A Touch of Darkness in Hades’ perspective, and I LOVED seeing his side. I KNEW he was just a lovesick idiot embarrassed about his feelings for Persephone!! Aside from getting his side of the romance, it was also enjoyable to see his dynamics with the other gods, like his close friendships with Hecate and Hephaestus, and his more antagonizing moments with Poseidon, Aphrodite, and Demeter. This book really displayed just how powerful and influential Hades is across the realms, and I look forward to reading the rest of his love story with Persephone through his eyes. ~ Reviewed by Kirstin Swartz

A sweet and creative tale about a special cafe where you can travel back in time- with a number of rules and exceptions. This lovely little book follows a number of different yet equally captivating characters who visit the cafe, and explores their heartfelt and deeply moving reasons for wanting to go back. I read this in a day and absolutely loved it. ~ Reviewed by Madison Gallup
