If you are in need of otherworldliness, this is the book for you. This earthy mystical interpretation of Arthurian/ Merlin myth rises above so many of the other mythological retellings out there by its wonderful blending of myth and historical details and characters. Sistersong has one of the most satisfying, twisty endings I've read in a long time. Highly recommended. ~ Reviewed by Maeve Noonan

Abandoned at a young age and dragged through the foster care system, Persephone May has only ever desired a place to call home. After a transformative moment in her work place, Persephone abandons her life to join a friend on the mysterious island of Wile Isle. There, Persephone is met by four women who call themselves her family, an ancient feud, and a dark curse that threatens them all. The Orphan Witch is a magical novel that examines the role of family and love in an individual's life, and whether or not those are enough to bestow a true sense of freedom. ~ Reviewed by Cassidy Washburn

A must read for any fantasy lover! Set before the events of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, discover how the “One ring to rule them all” first came into possession of a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. Join Bilbo, a band of merry dwarves, and the wizard Gandalf the Grey as they set out on a quest to reclaim Erebor from Smaug, the dragon. This book has a more lighthearted feel than the subsequent trilogy, quite possibly due to the fact that this adventure is headed toward a hopeful future rather than certain doom if all should fail, despite how each decision made in this story sets in motion the events to follow. ~ Reviewed by Hannah Odasz

A beautifully written, fever dream of a novel. Pheby’s world building is stunning, and it’s an adventure in itself to discover all the parts of it, as he introduces us to the gothic world of Mordew. Fans of Peake’s Gormenghast will love this first novel of a new series. It has living mud running through its streets, which creatures occasionally crawl out of, dead gods, talking dogs, secret libraries, and dark magic. Excellent addition to the Grimdark genre. ~ Reviewed by Becky Doherty
