Based on the life of Gerogie Badiel’s life, this book shows the journey some women and children take every day. They travel unbelievable amounts of miles to get only a few gourds of water to cook, clean and bathe in. This is not something people did "once upon a time" in a land “faraway” or in some dystopian land of fiction. This is happening today. Despite the tragic nature of why they must take this journey, this is a sweet story about a young girl and her hopes and dreams. Classically Peter Reynolds, the illustrations tie it all together. ~ Reviewed by Jeanette

Comprehensive biography of Lindbergh that could be appreciated by readers of all ages. While Lindbergh's heroics brought unheard-of adulation, and the kidnapping and murder of his son earned him huge sympathy, his open embrace of Nazism brought him scorn that he subsequently struggled to overcome. ~ Reviewed by Mike Hare

A memoir that hits the highlights and summarizes Stevenson’s life. This is a journal to us and to author. It is a scrapbook. It is a look back at memories that are still being processed. From 2011 to 2019 Stevenson takes us on a strange, beautiful, self-centered (but not necessarily selfish), realistic journey. While they do not go into extreme details, they explore their rise to fame, their successes, their failures, going to art school, jobs (paying and not), websites that launched their work, about living on their own and with roommates, much is dealt with about their mental health and finally finding love when they did not think it was possible. Aimed for ages at least 14 to adult due to concepts more than context. A fun but not easy ride. ~ Reviewed by Jeanette
