Award-winning certified executive chef Kelli Lewton celebrates 30+ years of cooking, teaching, sharing, styling, decorating and more at her company Two Unique Caterers and Event Planners. She is a contributor to numerous publications as well as a local personality as a Fox 2 Detroit chef, cooking up segments that inspire her MYO Party suggestions! Chef Kelli has been honored with serving US Presidents, athletes, celebrities and local neighbors. She gives back to her community in diverse and meaningful ways, especially through the stomach! She strives to feed the bodies as well as souls of those who need some nourishment.
One of the cornerstones of her success is that from the beginning, she felt deeply connected to special events. They felt magical. Leading up to an event, every idea felt possible. The food had to be special—from scratch with no shortcuts—and then, like actors in a play, the prepared dishes needed to be set on a stage where they could come alive. Chef Kelli was obsessed with Martha Stewart (and other hospitality figures and stylists) as a young adult, and like them, she wanted every single detail to be picture perfect.
She does not consider her career a job. Despite the demanding nature of event planning and production, the fulfillment afterward is unmatched. Her story serves as evidence that with dedication, focus, positive relationships with others, and a little luck, one can bring their dreams to life.
Kevin Miller is an entrepreneur and owner of Twigs and Branches, a floral and design company in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He finds beauty in the natural world and has a passion for scouting venue sites and incorporating organic, unexpected elements. A design-segment contributor on Fox 2 Detroit, he is passionate about sharing DIY tips that inspire others to bring beauty into their homes and events.
