While this renewed interest in feminism can be seen as a good thing, this book discusses the challenges feminism now faces in taking this interest and looking for the truth behind the warped mainstream marketplace feminism. Examples that Zeisler gives of this are how recently any "choice" a woman makes can apparently be seen as a feminist choice ( "it's my choice to" shave/not shave your legs, wear/not wear makeup ect.) and how women can be "empowered" by just about everything they do these days (17 empowering songs by female artists). This book is written in an engaging, smart, and snarky way that is both easily approachable and thought provoking.
