From Zero to Hero: A Modern Soldier's Tale, the title says it all. I went from feeling like a zero, to believing anything is possible, if you refuse to quit. By that I mean I was a high school dropout, druggie, and pretty much felt like an all around loser. Then on pure impulse, I joined the army. I was what you would call a recruiters “wet dream.” An outcast, looking for a way out of a small hometown, who wanted to make something out of himself before the clutches of addiction and a bad lifestyle cost him his life. I will leave you with this closing thought...the best revenge is living well. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!
About the Author
Ricky Greene does not personally think of himself as a hero. He just got hurt doing his job and managed to break through the clouds into sunnier days. Greene is now in the process of buying his first home and getting started in college to study Journalism. None of this would have been possible, if he hadn't joined the Army. No matter what anybody says Uncle Sam is taking good care of him. He believes even with his injury, the military landed him in a better spot now than he would have been in if he didn’t ever walk into that recruiter’s office.
