If Life has dealt anyone a bad hand, it would be Alistair Moore. With an absent (ee) father, the loss of his beloved mother to cancer, and having been the school’s outcast since the third grade, life has been tough on him. Now, four years after the death of his mother and only friend, Alistair seems to believe that his life truly holds no purpose. Under this belief, he essentially gives up on life, allowing his depression and his eating disorder to take over. That is, until he meets school sweetheart, Soraya Meite — a girl determined to help Alistair, regardless of whether he wants that help or not.
About the Author
Mikaela Zemaitis is a Watertown, Connecticut native who moved to Bennington, Vermont for college. However, while she hasn’t spent much time in her home town over the last four years, she is still impacted by that Connecticut suburban way of life. This can be seen in her writing, such as Don’t Talk to Alistair Moore, her first published novel.
