About the Author
Charles Dickens is one of the most widely-read authors in history. He was born in Portsmouth, England in 1812. Dickens was famous for the humor and sympathy of his characterization and his criticism of social injustice. He died in 1870, and was laid to rest in the Poets' Corner of Westminster Abbey.
