I am SCREAMING over how cute this book is! What an unexpectedly intense book this was. It truly twisted my feelings and left me in states of shock and despair, in a good way made me get into all the indescribably negative feels, then EXPLODED back in my face with LGBTQ+ adorableness. That is the only way I can describe this book without going into spoilers. I am absolutely in love with the story, and this book will now forever hold a special place on my shelves. Thank you, Aiden Thomas, for sharing such a beautiful, young, queer, love story with us all. As someone who is transgender them self, this gave me a warm feeling during the chill of Halloween night. — Jules Wagner
This book is perfect to read in the fall - and great for other times of the year as well - full of magic, death, and mystery. Following Yadriel in his mission to convince his family he is a true brujo, Cemetery Boys immerses you in the lively, colorful world of Yadriel, his family, and their Latinx community as they prepare for Dia de los Muertos. As members of the community are descended from people blessed by Lady Death, they can either heal (the power of women), or send spirits on to the afterlife (the power of men). Yadriel wants, more than anything, to be accepted as a brujo who can work with spirits, but as a trans man, he has been kept from attempting any kind of training by his family and tradition, Yadriel decides to prove he can be a brujo by summoning a ghost and sending it to the afterlife. I could barely put down this book, following Yadriel into a world of ancient gods, mouth-watering food, and beautiful explorations of family and community - the ones we are born into and the ones we make for ourselves.

“I couldn’t put this book down — I raced through it. Everything about it I loved, from the rich world-building of the brujx community Yadriel is part of, to the diverse cast of characters that included multiple trans and queer Latinx characters. It being written by an Own Voices author only made it that much better!”
