Twice in a Blue Moon follows the story of Tate Jones, also known as Tate Butler, the daughter of one of the most famous actors in Hollywood (think Tom Cruise famous) who’s been hiding to avoid the spotlight after her parents' messy divorce. During a trip to London, eighteen-year-old Tate meets and falls in love with the handsome Sam, who she confesses her true identity to. After betraying Tate and revealing her identity to the press, Sam is never seen again and Tate uses the exploitation to her advantage and works to become an up-and-coming actress over the course of 14 years. On the set of her most demanding role yet, Tate and Sam meet again and pick up the pieces of their collective broken hearts after so many years apart. While the jump from YA-esque first love to adult romance was a little choppy, this novel overall was a beautiful little love story with a couple who were just the right fit from each other. I only wish the story was a bit longer so it could have wrapped up some side plots, specifically the strained relationship between Tate and her father, but a good romance story nonetheless!

“This is a story about forgiveness and second chances, and it is full of heart. When 18-year-old Tate, the long-lost daughter of a famous actor, has a whirlwind vacation romance with Sam, he sells a story about her to the press for the big bucks. Now, 14 years later and an established actress herself, she has to work with Sam while trying not to let him see how his betrayal changed the course of her life. This novel feels more subdued, a slow burn dealing a lot with trust issues and complicated family dynamics. If you’re looking for a sweet (and sexy) romance with depth that will keep you up until the wee hours of the morning, this is it.”
