Oh dear lord, what a terrifying read. One week, fourteen contestants, and a money prize worth the game. Only as more days pass, the players realize that this reality show hide-and-seek competition is not at all what it seems. Something is seeking them, but just what is it? Absolutely thrilling, I loved being so scared. But, I will never trust an old rusty amusement park again. — Kirstin Swartz
Well that was absolutely horrifying but at the same time, exhilarating. Just like amusement parks are meant to be right? Hide will have you on the edge of your seat as a classic children's game turns into a terrifying game of survival. You may want to read this one with the lights on.
One of the creepiest books I have ever read. The twist on the children's game Hide and Go Seek is genius. I read it in a day and I loved being able to see the different perspectives of each character. Follow each contestant as they compete for $50,000...or so they think. Screams and mysterious disappearances have everyone wondering, who is actually looking for them. Or should I say what is after them? — Kylie Thalheimer
This book reads perfectly as a YA novel. It’s not too intense, not too inappropriate (in ANY sense of the word).. It’s perfect for young readers. I always recommended it to young adults who are looking to dabble with adult horror. The only reason (in my opinion) why it’s categorized as adult horror is because the characters ARE adults. Here’s a quote from the authors summary: “Fourteen competitors. Seven days. Everywhere to hide, but nowhere to run.
Come out, come out, wherever you are.”
“The Hunger Games meets Something Wicked This Way Comes meets Occupy Wall Street. A scathing allegory of the senselessly dangerous world we live in that will consume you, leave you in a daze and constantly checking over your shoulder.”
