This may be the best book I read in 2017. Melody Shee's husband is not the father of the child she carries. An outcast in her Irish town, haunted by the death of a childhood friend, she befriends a nineteen year old Traveller (gypsy) woman named Mary Crothery. It's a fascinating relationship.
