This book was such a wonderful surprise. The Wall takes a simple premise of a woman in isolation and uses it to explore themes of loneliness, feminism, gender constructs, capitalism, and so much more. Our unnamed narrator takes us with her on her unexpected existential journey of survival when she is suddenly cut off from the world with no one but her dog, a cow, and a cat. What follows is an insightful and oftentimes bleak exploration of individualism and womanhood driven by a compelling, Walden-esque argument for the power of nature over modernism. ~ Reviewed by Madison Gallup
