I was completely captivated by Ash’s stunning writing, and the tremendous sense of place it gave me. When Ash moves to Cornwall from London, she explores the traditions and lives of the fishing community that has shaped this part of the world, discovering the ways, and struggles, they keep this industry and way of life alive. Ash begins to take rides on several different fishing vessels, and explores the uniqueness of them, and also the mindset and comradery of the men that work on them. This book is a tremendous body of research and insight into a way of life that may be in its twilight years. Excellent. ~ Reviewed by Becky Doherty
