Finally a hiking guide that is also an enjoyable read. Scofield has a great eye for detail, as he provides history lessons and geology lessons along with a hiking guide. Hiking chapters are designated into five themes, the Long Trail, Wilderness Area, Peaks, Ponds and Day Hikes. Maps are also included. An engaging mix of fact and philosophy, author Bruce Scofield is always entertaining and educating in his quirky detailed style. A recommended hiking guide for all inquiring hikers.
