Northshire Bookstore Review(s)

Reviewed By... MacIntosh Swan

One of the most interesting print makers operating today. Got his start doing indie rock concert posters (he is in a band called Dianogah) for the likes of Sebadoh & Fugazi. His work has a stripped down, sketchbook quality, with skeletons often still visible under the finished product. He is now part of an artist group called Bird Machine, & designed the cover of Michael Chabon's latest novel. Keep an eye out he may pop up on "the radar" soon.

Publisher Comments

A greatest-hits collection of the last decade of Jay Ryan's compelling posters, 100 Posters, 134 Squirrels showcases one of underground poster art's most prolific and talented practitioners. Framed by essays from luminaries in the music, design, and poster worlds—including Steve Albini, Art Chantry, Greg Kot, and Debra Parr—as well as an interview with Ryan himself, this book offers a unique look into Ryan's unusual approach to poster art.
