Amy Laughinghouse is a freelance writer who has written about more than 60 log cabins and timber frame homes. Amy was for many years based in Atlanta, Georgia, from which she and her husband escaped each weekend to a vacation cabin on an isolated peak east of Asheville, North Carolina.
