Northshire Bookstore Review(s)

Reviewed By... Mackenzie

We all enjoy putting maple syrup on our pancakes, waffles etc., but to cook with it? Maple syrup is the best and tastiest way to sweeten recipes. You can add it to your favorites or try some of the delicious recipes in this book, such as maple glazed butternut squash, maple baked beans, crispy maple spareribs or spice up regulars like, maple cream cheese spread and maple hot chocolate. Be adventurous and give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Publisher Comments

Nobody has been able to capture the sensual pleasures of real maple syrup by substituting artificial ingredients. MAPLE SYRUP COOKBOOK offers a repertoire of 95 recipes featuring maple syrup as the sweetening ingredient. In addition to the classic breakfast recipes, there are starters: Orange Maple Chicken Wings and Maple Creamy Fondue. Entrees: Crispy Maple Spareribs and Maple Vinegar Roasted Pork. Baked goods: Maple Cream Biscuits and Winter Squash Spoonbread. And, of course, desserts: Tawny Maple Cheesecake, Maple Ginger Ice Cream, and the classic Sugar on Snow. Plus beverages, butters, relishes, and more.

Author Ken Haedrich is a food writer, cookbook author, writes a monthly food column for Country Journal. His articles have also been featured in Food & Wine, Good Food, and Horticulture. Ken lives in Rumney, New Hampshire.
