Northshire Bookstore Review(s)

Reviewed By... Louise Jones

Beloved children's author and illustrator Tasha Tudor shares her favorite recipes with her legion of fans. The more than 80 recipes reflect Tudor's traditional New England life style; many have been handed down for generations, some she has created afresh. Tudor accompanies each recipe with a personal reminiscence and, in most cases, an enchanting watercolor. The collection includes foods for holiday treats and entertaining as well as old-fashioned Blueberry Coffee Cake, Chicken Croquettes and her grandmother's recipe for Gingerbread.

Other VT Tidbits...
Tasha Tudor lives in seclusion in southern Vermont.

This a collection of family stories and classic New England recipes, illustrated by the beloved children's author and artist. Not surprisingly, her favorite dishes are the old-fashioned ones: slow-cooked baked beans, roast beef with airy Yorkshire pudding, baked custard, fresh tomatoe salad, as well as many handmade Christmas cookies and edible tree ornaments. This is more than a kitchen companion;it's a treasure!
