Northshire Bookstore Review(s)

Reviewed By... Jeanette

Perfect book for any time of the year. But Pacy (as she is known to her family) or Grace (as she is known to her friends) has more problems than just having two names. She must: find luck, money, find out what she wants to do with the rest of her life, and figure out is she Chinese, American or Taiwanese before the end of the year. Many humorous adventures occur before the Year of the Dog is over, and readers will be laughing, wondering, and learning right along with our heroine.

Publisher Comments

It's the Chinese Year of the Dog, and as Pacy celebrates with her family, she finds out that this is the year she is supposed to "find herself." Universal themes of friendship, family, and finding one's passion in life make this novel appealing to readers of all backgrounds. This funny and profound book is a wonderful debut novel by a prolific picture book author and illustrator and has all the makings of a classic.

Grace Lin is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. She is the author and illustrator of eight picture books, and the illustrator of over nine more. She grew up in upstate New York and now lives in Massachusetts with her husband, Robert.
