Smart, funny, insightful and full of love of all different kinds. An absorbing read for those who are interested in the intricacies of family life or who just want a fine, atmospheric story. I really got to know these characters and care about their individual realities.

The older Owen siblings--Ellen and Morris--long ago left behind their gracious family home in Alabama in favor of the northeast.
