All the cuts on this CD were recorded spontaneously with no planned agenda. A slight exception is "When I Survey" which was an improvisation on a traditional melody. The low whistle and tin whistle parts were recorded live on the mountains - the other instruments were recorded/scored in the studio.
Review:Edward Burke, Celtic music fan and College DJ
Lush, soothing, improvisational Celtic/New-Age compositionsled by the shrill, and haunting pennywhistle and low whistle (Respectively!) Music inspired by the beauty of the Northeast where Quadra (and I) call home. Even if you're not from any of the New England states, Quadra's music is heavenly; His whistles speak to us and guide us within our souls.
Guitar, keyboard, percussion and bagpipe drones are added to the live, on-site whistle playing, creating a bright, full sound which wouldn't be out of place as the soundtrack to Celtic-flavored movies such as Braveheart, or the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Tracks of note are "First Born", "Rachel's Dance", "Inheritance", "Caleb's March", "Winter Cry", and "When I Survey", the only traditional peice on the album. Highly reccomended for those who need a bit of music therapy.
