Such a sweet and thoughtful film. Joan Plowright shines as an elderly widow who moves to London to live out her days and make a life for herself after her soul mate/husband's death. Prospects for meaningful interaction appear bleak at first, since her daughter and grandson are only interested in her out of duty. Fate and synergy place her in the path of a young man (Rupert Friend) who becomes a special soul in her life. My throat was tight with emotion throughout, and the tears that I shed near the end were more from the beauty and honesty of their relationship than sadness. A wonderful and important film.
