Short Stories Winners Of The 2010 Shires Press Award

The Northshire Bookstore and Shires Press are pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Shires Press Short Story Contest: Deven Sansare, Brandon Ayre, Shawn MacKenzie, K.D. Norris, and Joe Moore. The finalists were selected by the Northshire Bookstore booksellers. Three of the five winners are Vermont writers - Ayre, MacKenzie, and Norris. The response to the contest was terrific and submissions came in from all over the world. The final selections are wonderful in their scope and talent. The Anthology was printed at the Northshire using the Espresso Book Machine. We are proud to be the first independent bookstore in the U.S., and only one of a few in the entire world, to have an Espresso Book Machine (EBM) on the premises. The EBM is a Print on Demand (POD) machine that enables affordable short-run printing. The whole book is made right here — from printing to binding to trimming.
