Stephen Sondheim's delightfully witty musical adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's classic film, Smiles of a Summer Night, is transferred to the screen by Harold Prince, who directed the original Broadway production. Visually sparkling, with fine performances by Len Cariou and Diana Rigg and a surprisingly credible rendition of Send in the Clowns by Elizabeth Taylor. Winner of two Academy Awards.
