Absolutely THE VOICE of the Scottish ballad tradition. I first became acquainted with this amazing singer from the COMPLETE SONGS OF ROBERT BURNS collection which featured him as one of the main vocalists. Ian Bruce is a talented singer/songwriter in his own right but when he turns his talents to old Scottish songs he melts the heart and fires the blood. Check out his solo recording of Burns songs called ALLOWAY TALES as well as this album. Magnificent!
