Mark Wahlberg plays a reclusive, disillusioned man whose patriotic fire is rekindled by the chance to use his expertise as a skilled sharpshooter to prevent a presidential assassination. The plot makes very little sense, but it is propelled at such a breakneck pace, the viewer hardly has time to catch his breath much less consider logic. Mr. Wahlberg is becoming a movie hero with positively heroic dimensions. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, who displayed a similar flare for action movies in the testosterone-fueled Training Day.
