Northshire Bookstore Review(s)

Reviewed By... Jon Fine

For such a heralded production with a near feverishly strong cult following, it has been surprisingly difficult to acquire the entire Twin Peaks experience (although its entire run encompassed a mere 2 seasons) on DVD- until now. This is it Twin Peaks fans, the "Definitive Gold Box Edition" that you've been waiting for all these years. Contained herein is not only the previously out of print 1st, and best, season, but also the integral pilot episode movie which, according to what I have read, due to licensing issues has only previously been available packaged separately (and overseas). Lest any Peaks viewers have forgotten during the years elapsed since its original broadcast, all of the earnest but quirky doughnut, pie and coffee loving lawmen; scandalously twisted townsfolk (for at some level, despite its quirky brilliance, Peaks was part soap opera after all); horrifyingly merciless villains; mystifying secrets; unsolved murder and, yes, the log lady are all here. And yes, with classic lines such as "the owls are not what they seem", some folks did find Twin Peaks too frustratingly cryptic, yet for the true fans like you and I, it was just another tasty and irreplaceable ingredient in this exotic stew of life in the one-of-a-kind Northwestern logging town that was... Twin Peaks.
