A series of grisly murders baffles the residents of a small town in New England, but young Marty Coslaw (Corey Haim) begins to suspect that a werewolf may be behind the killings. The problem, as it often is, is convincing someone else of his suspicion. Adapted by Stephen King from his novel, Silver Bullet is unabashed schlock, but it is also creepy and atmospheric, with an underlying current (believe it or not) of humor. If it doesn't attain the lofty heights of Dog Soldiers, The Howling, or An American Werewolf in London, this is good, unpretentious fun, but it is not for the squeamish.
