This early music ensemble has all the fire and passion of a great instrumental Celtic band. The recording is subtitled: Scottish & Irish music from the earliest traditional sources. They play session tunes from the oral tradition which are still heard in pubs today as well as older dance tunes and "parlor" tunes, all on authentic period instruments. They are "expert at creating a synthesis of living and historic traditions." My favorite discovery of 2006 from Maggie's Music.
