Just for kids – enjoy something sweet as children’s author Hallie Durand presents her hilarious early reader Dessert First. The book is the entertaining start to a foodie-fun series for young readers, starring an eight-year-old girl with the unlikely name of Dessert. The oldest child in a large food-loving family of six, she marches to her own drum and frequently, her sweet tooth gets her into some mischief. With three crazy siblings, two kooky parents, one fun-loving dog, and a family fondue restaurant, Dessert’s life is a sure-to-please recipe for fun. There’s even a lesson to be learned: sometimes, the best things are worth waiting for. Hallie Durand is the pen name of Holly McGhee, founder/owner of Pippin Properties. She lives in Maplewood, New Jersey with her family. Join us for an entertaining event – and dessert!
