OFF THE SHELF: AUTHORS IN CONVERSATION with ALEXANDER MCCALL SMITH
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to the weather and a change of travel plans the Off the Shelf portion of this event has been cancelled. Mr. McCall Smith will be signing between 3:00 and 4:00, followed by a talk from 4:00 to 4:30. Doors will open at 2:30. Books and tickets will be available to purchase at the event.
Tickets are available for purchase (or to pick up, if pre-bought) at the store until noon on the day of the event. After that you can get them at the door of the venue.
Alexander McCall Smith presents THE UNCOMMON APPEAL OF CLOUDS. The newest addition—the ninth!—to his ever-delightful Isabel Dalhousie series.
Venue: Maple Street School. Doors open at 2:30 pm. Signing will start at 3:00 pm followed by a talk by Mr. McCall Smith from 4:00 to 4:30 pm. In addition to the THE UNCOMMON APPEAL OF CLOUDS, Mr. McCall Smith will sign an unlimited amount of titles purchased at the event. Previously owned titles are limited to two per person.
Alexander McCall Smith is the author of the beloved bestselling No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series, the Isabel Dalhousie series, the Portuguese Irregular Verbs series, the 44 Scotland Street series, and the Corduroy Mansions series. He is also the author of numerous children’s books. He is professor emeritus of medical law at the University of Edinburgh and has served with many national and international organizations concerned with bioethics. He was born in what is now known as Zimbabwe and taught law at the University of Botswana. He lives in Scotland.
OFF THE SHELF: Authors in Conversation is a partnership between the Northshire Bookstore and WAMC Northeast Public Radio; a live stage event featuring Joe Donahue of The Bookshow interviewing authors. Each event is taped and later aired on WAMC, reaching thousands of listeners.
