Syvia Perlmutter, was only one of twelve children to survive the Lodz ghetto of Poland. Her story is wonderfully told here, by her niece. An amazing story of harsh times and how the people were able to survive it all. Roy tells her aunts story in beautiful prose poetry.

Wonderful story of family and culture. Miguel tries to "fit-in" at his new home and school in Vermont. But when his aunt Lola from the Dominican Republic comes--with her "odd ways"--he feels he never will. Soon he learns that he couldn't be farther from the truth.
