As someone who is always looking for ways to get back to a sustainable homemade lifestyle, I love the simple recipes for everyday family foods as well as novelty items. The bonus...hilarious comments about the relative ease or difficulty of each recipe.

This is going on my holiday wish list. The title drew me in, the contents blew my mind. An informative, essential, deeply personal take on flavor pairings. Did you know garlic and onion are known as "devil's dung" among Chinese Buddhists? This guide is filled with such lore, as well as plenty of ideas for flavor combinations.
